What licence do I need to drive a specialist vehicle?
Licence requirements depend on the vehicle's weight. Vehicles up to 3,500 kg (3.5 tonnes) gross vehicle weight can be driven on a standard category B licence. Vehicles between 3.5-7.5 tonnes require a C1 licence. For anything heavier, a full HGV (category C or CE) licence is required.
